"THE CITADEL OF THE ARTS – ART IN THE HEART OF THE CITADEL" - ACRONYM C.R.E.A.T.E!
"THE CITADEL OF THE ARTS – ART IN THE HEART OF THE CITADEL / C.R.E.A.T.E!": THE PROJECT THAT WILL BRING DOZENS OF ROMANIAN AND FOREIGN ARTISTS TO ALBA IULIA CITADEL IN 2023.
Skepsis Group N.G.O, in partnership with Alba Iulia Municipality and DAVVI – CENTRE FOR PERFORMING ARTS from Norway implement the project „THE CITADEL OF THE ARTS – Art in the hEArt of the ciTadEL / acronym C.R.E.A.T.E!". This project is financed with the support of EEA Grants 2014-2021 within the RO-CULTURE Programme.
The project is an original, creative initiative and brings together Romanian and foreign artists under the same umbrella, transforming Alba Carolina Citadel into a vibrant cultural stage in the open air.
The project provides a set of sustainable solutions for a series of cultural gaps: a cultural agenda based more on the import of events; poor creative infrastructure; the need to develop the capacity of local cultural organizations.
The main actions of this project consist of preparing, organizing, and developing interactive artistic workshops. These workshops will play a fundamental role in conceiving, planning, and realizing street performances that combine elements of theater, music, and visual arts.
The partner from Norway, DAVVI - SENTER FOR SCENEKUNST, will organize a non-verbal theater workshop exclusively for the young actors of the Skepsis theater troupe.
The workshop will serve as thebasis for creating and presenting two non-verbal theater performances in Alba Iulia and Romania for the first time. The public will have free access to 14 contemporary art activities (shows, exhibitions, workshops): 4 theater performances, 5 theater performances presented as part of a theater micro-season, 2 street concerts - type shows, one international exhibition, one national exhibition of an interethnic nature; 1 interactive combined arts workshop.

The three donor countries cooperate closely with the EU through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The donors have provided €3.3 billion through consecutive grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. For the period 2014-2021, the EEA Grants amount to €1.55 billion.
