Proscenio Teatro

(Proscenio Theater Company from Italy)

Proscenio Teatro is one of the most stable and active companies in Marche region (Central Italy) in terms of theatre productions, children’s theatre and acting education.

The company is supported by the Marche Region and the Italian Ministry of Culture and has been promoting theatre culture in the region and beyond for years.

Proscenio also has a continuous program of acting education for Children (7-12 y.o.), Young Adults (13-18 y.o.), Adults 18+ and Seniors 60+, that sum up to 90-100 participants each year on average.

Proscenio Teatro collaborates with the municipalities of Porto San Giorgio and Fermo on artistic, social and educational projects, organizing reviews, producing ad hoc shows for the initiatives of the administrations, offering its contribution in the field of social services (workshops for immigrants, children, adolescents and families in difficulty). It has also been collaborating for years with schools in the area (e.g., ISC Nardi in Porto San Giorgio and ITIS Montani in Fermo).

In addition to the already mentioned “Shakespeare nel parco” festival, another relevant project is EPOS, a mini summer festival dedicated to the exploration of the great classics in an evocative setting that is perfectly suited to host mythical and millenary stories.

One of the objectives of this festival is to promote the incredible historical location of Rocca Tiepolo, transforming it into a cultural container particularly suited to enhance performances and works centered on the eternal classical myths that, although thousands of years apart, always allow us to better understand human nature and the world we live in.

The title of the festival, EPOS, emphasizes the rediscovery of the great epic poems, or rather the poetic narration of great heroic gestures that are transformed into immortal stories, thanks to the inseparable combination of lyrical impulses, great adventures, philosophy and entertainment.

Thanks to the support of the Municipality of Porto San Giorgio, as well as to the contribution of AMAT (a regional theatre association), Proscenio also organizes SOTTO_PASSAGGI, a review aiming at enhancing forms of contemporary theatre.

The shows chosen by the artistic director Stefano Tosoni come from companies of great professionals, both regional and national.

Alongside the big names, there are many talented and determined professionals who fight every day in the hope of giving someone a story, a tear or a smile.

At an absolutely affordable price, it is possible to enjoy excellent works that have already received regional and national acclaim and recognition: a unique opportunity and one of the most interesting and original cultural proposals in the region.

As lead partner, Proscenio will coordinate and manage the entire project, organizing the periodic meetings for the whole partnership and taking care of the internal communication, making sure that all the relevant information flows within the partnership precisely and in due time. It will coordinate the methodology development and the best practices exchange activities. The lead partner will also be in charge of organizing its events (once a year) in Fermo.

As lead partner, Proscenio will be entrusted with the dissemination of project results, with the help of a communication manager for the creation of a strong and comprehensive communication campaign.

Its main expertise lies in the promotion of theatre at all levels, stating from children’s workshops, and the involvement of local communities.

Commune De Saint-Germain-En-Laye

Saint-Germain-En-Laye Municipality from France

Alexandre Dumas Theatre is the result of many historical and cultural modifications that happened over the centuries in the Municipality of Saint-Germain-En-Laye (SGL).

In 1846 the theatre was restored and managed by Alexandre Dumas himself and in 1864 the ownership was transferred to the municipality.

The actual “Alexandre Dumas” municipal theatre was inaugurated on January 28th , 1989 and is known for its rich and multidisciplinary activity including theatre, different types of dance, circus, comedy, music, all organized in indoor classical scenes, but recently more often in unexpected outdoor contexts (like the Royal Castle garden, different squares etc.).

During the last 4 years, the theatre has been hosting the “Opera en plein air” (Outdoor opera) Festival on the Royal Domain and in 2021 it initiated the “Saint Germain En Live” street art festival (including all kind of theatre, dance and music shows in public spaces).

All these alternative events are conceived to open up and offer art for new audiences, making it more sustainable and better contribute to the liveness and livability of the public space and of the city in general.

Through the involvement in this project proposal, besides enabling artists’ and art exchanges, SGL will further develop alternative cultural events fostering urban regeneration and prosperity and will support the replicability and scale up of the most promising experiences.

The Alexandre Dumas Theatre, in close cooperation with the Municipality of SGL as its manager, will participate in the methodology development and best practices exchange activities, providing specific insights thanks to its profile of local public stakeholder in addition to cultural institution.

As project partner, it will also be in charge of organizing one edition of the “Saint Germain En Live” street art festival.

Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a French commune, located 19 km west of PARIS, in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region, whose mayor is Arnaud PERICARD.

Since January 1, 2019, it has had the status of a new municipality, following the absorption on that date of the municipality of Fourqueux.

The history of the city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye has long been linked to the presence of the castle, which was a regular residence of the kings of France whose importance nevertheless diminished following the installation of Louis XIV in Versailles, and to the forest, a former royal hunting ground. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was the seat of a sub-prefecture of Yvelines and became a sought-after residential town with a marked international character.

Its inhabitants are called Saint-Germanois. It is the 150th most populated city in metropolitan France, with more than 50,000 inhabitants.

Saint-Germain-en-Laye is famous for its castles (Château-Vieux, remains of the Château-Neuf, Hennemont castle), its terrace, its forest, its primary, secondary, and higher schools, its shops, its museums (Museum of National Archaeology, Priory Museum, Claude-Debussy Museum) and its theater (Théâtre Alexandre-Dumas).

In 2021, the city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye is creating a new music festival – SAINT-GERMAIN EN LIVE – to host the best of contemporary international music, enriched with bold multidisciplinary  forms, in particular to perform in the urban space.

In 2021, the 1st edition of the FESTIVAL SAINT-GERMAIN EN LIVE kept all its promises, despite the health crisis, with 17 concerts scheduled in 7 cultural establishments in the city, 5,000 spectators or 75% occupancy, 7 companies in the urban space followed by nearly 10,000 people, 9 LIVE bars, 10 cultural actions led by artists for 200 young people…

In 2022, the 2nd edition of the FESTIVAL SAINT-GERMAIN EN LIVE, more compact, made it possible to consolidate the project on the territory, with 80% attendance, i.e. 3,715 spectators, 13 indoor concerts (with some double or triple programs), 7 venues, 11 musical formations outside the walls (brass bands, groups, urban dance, etc.), 15 LIVE bars and always cultural awareness-raising actions for audiences far from culture.

In 2023, the project is still managed, within the city, by the Alexandre-Dumas theater in collaboration with La CLEF, the Claude-Debussy conservatory and the artistic associations of the territory. The program (online) is once again the choice of eclecticism: Benjamin Biolay, Peter Doherty, Izia, Electro Deluxe, Doums… Without forgetting to make a good place for new talents promised to a very bright future. All these artists with very different personalities and styles will reveal an artistic palette of multiple colors with energy, sensitivity, and sensuality.

The project is aimed at all residents, all spectators within and outside the walls, from the youngest to the least, by offering a stage open to all artistic audacities, by skillfully mixing emerging and confirmed talents, by offering world music, current music, pop, rock, luck, dance, street arts…

The program unfolds in places inside and outside, in usual or more unexpected equipment, to multiply the stages, and thus assume a real approach of access to shows for all, meshing the entire territory of the municipality, with a real requirement artistic and attractive entrance tickets. For Saint-Germain-en-Laye to be truly LIVE, the music spreads throughout the city, on weekends, with quirky brass bands and other itinerant performances that take over the urban space and the city’s bistros. open their doors, at aperitif time, to a selection of local DJs and musicians.
